Jubilee MP on Spot as electorate lodge complains to EACC and CID

Embakasi North Member of parliament James Gakuya is unlucky man after a voter in his constituency has challenged his integrity.

A letter seen by the writer indicates that the MP should not hold a public office due to his compromised integrity matters.

Complainant Mary Njeri has written to IEBC, Jubilee Party, Director of CID and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission challenging her candidature.img440

In 2015 Gakuya was charged in a Nairobi court with obtaining Sh7 million by pretending he could sell a piece of land to his Makadara counterpart Benson Mutua.

The MP was also accused of conspiring with another person by offering to sell the piece of land in Thome Estate within Kasarani while knowing they were not the genuine owners.
The letter further accuses Gakuya of employing his brother as Personal Assistant, his Niece as Fund Manager and awarding his companies tenders.

The voter further accuses the MP of misappropriation of over 30.93 million every financial year noting that the story was written by the standard newspaper two months ago.

Ms Njeri wonders how the MP was issued with certificate of good conduct despite his questionable integrity issues.

She has requested the Jubilee party to terminate his candidature has he doesn’t img439deserve to be reelected while also requesting the investigations to be launched.

The attempt to reach Gakuya was futile as his phone was always busy by the time of going to press.

The MP is expected to battle for a jubilee ticket with his arch rival mr Harrison Wangoro.

Mr Wangoro a former personal Assistant to Kabete MP Fedinard Waititu and close friend to Murang’a governor Mwangi Wairia has traversed every corner of the constituency seeking electorate’s votes.

A political pundit says that, Wangoro’s financial Muscle and development records in the area may see him elected as the next MP.

In 2013, the aspirant applied for the position of speaker of National Assembly but later stepped down for Justin Muturi due to great love of the party and respect to Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking with the writer Wangoro says that he the best bet for the constituency as he has been tested in various field and approved.
