Makadara MP George Aladwa has hailed the reconciliatory path taken by Govenor Mike Sonko and MCAs to avert the leadership crisis at City Hall.
The Nairobi ODM chairman on Sunday said that the move to have the impeachment motion dropped will give room to service delivery and order.
The legislator noted that an impeachment would have led to a by-election which would result into a heated political process in the capital.
An impeachment would be suicidal and not good at all.We all wanted a sober solution and are happy that we got one,”.
Aladwa who was speaking when he met young entrepreneurs in Makongeni estate revealed that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was also not for the impeachment.
He said that the new development vindicated him following a statement he issued two ago noting that ODM was not for impeachment .
I said this before and l know that this is the position of our party leader as well.No one wanted to drug us into campaigns again this year,” Aladwa said.
The impeachment motion was tabled by Makongeni MCa Peter Imwatok and if he does not withdraw it, it is likely to be defeated on the floor of the house.
Aladwa called on decolution cabinet Secretary Eugine Wamalwa to ensure that the taskforce formed is all inclusive .
He should consult all elected leaders and come up with a team that will deliver ,”
