Azimio Gains Support From People Living With Disability in Mount Kenya.

People Living with Disability in the Mount Kenya region have applauded the appointment of Martha Karua as Raila Odinga’s running mate.

Led by their leaders, they have called out all those living with disability to join and support Azimio saying it is where they will benefit if they get into government in the forthcoming General Elections.

“We us people living with Disability support Azimio because it is where we will have an opportunity. Martha is a mother and where you get a mother being helped the next person is a person living with a Disability,” said Mike Makarina.

They compared it to how mothers struggle with children born with Disability and never abandon them.
Makarina said where a mother is, a person living with a disability will definitely benefit.

“When a mother gets a child with disability, the men leave them. We are calling all the PLD from Mount Kenya and the whole country at large to support Azimio even if they do not love mothers. We us people living with disability will benefit,” he added.

According to them Martha being the next Deputy President of Kenya is a prayer answered by God.
They dismissed Gachagua’s point of dissolving Safaricom stating that it is one of the companies which has employed a good number of people living with Disability.

“If you look at Safaricom, it is one of the companies which has employed many of us. So saying it should be disbanded is very wrong because we will be left jobless. He wants to dissolve it and make his own where he will be able to steal,” said Makarina.

Speaking at Nyayo Stadium on Tuesday where he held a meeting with groups of people living with disabilities, Raila promised to roll out social protection measures to alleviate their suffering.

Raila said he had constituted a team of people living with disabilities who will be integrated into the presidential campaigns to traverse the country for votes.

The Azimio flag bearer asked the community of this special category of people to back his presidential bid this year knowing too well that he will better their lives if elected.

“I appeal for your support so that together we can realize these goals,” Raila said during the meeting also attended by some of the ODM leaders living with disabilities.
