Cycling and Marching for the planet to Cop27 in Sharm-el-Sheik- Cairo,Egypt

Environmental change and climate activists and Green Economy for Kenya (GEFOK) are two teams that are working on a concept Road to Cop27 (The 2022 United Nations  Climate change conference.)

They are planning on marching and cycling to cover 5,237 kilometres  from Kenya to Egypt from 21st September to 18th November to express a message on environment conservation.

Benard Kioko- Environmental change and climate activist, founder and chairperson- GEFOK, says that 50 people will be delegates to represent different communities and countries at the COP


“We are working with organisations accredited to Cop27 to give badges to be represented at the COP and advocate especially for grassroots local initiatives to adapt not only climate change but poverty, biodiversity loss, community health and sustainable food system including water access by advocating for the nonviolent economy in the Cop and other process.” Said Kioko.

The team calls upon citizens to show support and be part of the jouney saying it’s  all about  community transformation in dynamic ways from a climate change angle.
