ESET setting standards in Cyber security awareness

ESET, a global IT security solutions firm with over 110 million users in 202 countries and territories is drawing your attention to the changing trends in the use of technology, where most Kenyans are always online.

ESET’s Brand Ambassador Dr. Bright Gameli Mawudor, the Founder of the Cyber Security collective Africahackon,  while holding a media deliberations meeting  recently in Nairobi said devices such as personal mobile phones, tablets and laptops said they have inevitably found themselves connected to company networks through WIFI internet connections.

He also said what many do not know, is that we have become more vulnerable to online attacks due to our consumption trends.

These devices have become the weakest link to our internet security and one infected device, could spread malware across the whole Organization’s network, causing losses worth millions in finances and data.

“The month of October is a Cyber Security awareness month, it therefore provides an opportunity for us to enhance the public’s knowledge and awareness on the intricacies of using the online space safely” he further added.

Mawudor introduced ESET, whose overall objective is to safeguard internet users against a number of online related hazards (cyber-crime and lack of privacy among others).

Operating in Kenya since 2015, ESET  has won several awards while developing the IT security software and services for businesses and various consumers worldwide to deliver strong online security. It deals with both software engineering and malware research; these tools have enabled them to deliver world-class security solutions to Enterprise, MSP and SMB customers across the globe.

Through the tag line, “Enjoy Safer Technology”, ESET ensures safer online spaces specifically for the East African internet user.
