For the first time in the country Kenya is set hold the safety wards that seeks to promote individuals and companies championing for health and safety at workplace.
The awards set for 31st of August will for a start feature two counties Nairobi and Mombasa with the window open for other counties that would like to hand in submission for the awards.
According to James Kinuthia the director of Safe Pro Limited, the awards will be looking at how an individual or an organisation is working towards the improvement and enhancement of employees’ health and safety.
“These will be awards for people who appreciate and ensure that workers are safe from any harm in the course of doing their daily businesses,” said Kinuthia.
It will be the first time awards on safety are being held in Africa.
Irene Kenoti PR manager for Ability Resource says the move is aimed at enabling organisations and individuals share best practices, Manage human reasource and raise awareness on the importance of safety at work place.
The submissions will run from 1-12 August with Auditors expected to visit the companies between 15 to 18th.
