KWAL injects 10m to Covid 19 Emergency fund

Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) has today donated Ksh. 10 million to the Kenya COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund to support the spirited fight against COVID-19. The donation was presented at KICC by Kenya Wine Agencies Limited Managing Director, Lina Githuka and Legal Director, Doris Thangei. The money will go towards welfare interventions which include providing food and essential commodities to vulnerable communities affected by the pandemic. KWAL wins reprieve against Mount Kenya Breweries for infringement of Kibao Vodka bottle design

On 28th April, 2020 Kenya Wine Agencies Ltd (KWAL) was granted temporary reprieve against Mount Kenya Breweries Limited (MKBL) in a case which KWAL has filed at the Industrial Property Tribunal. In the Ruling, the Tribunal issued a temporary injunction stopping MKBL from using the Kibao Vodka bottles, pending the determination of a case filed by KWAL. COVID-19 numbers go up as government intensify testing across the country

Kenya has recorded 127 positive cases of COVID 19, out of 3,831 samples tested in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of positive cases to 1745. These cases are spread in Nairobi (76), Mombasa (19), Busia (16), Uasin Gishu (8), Kiambu (2), Kajiado (5) and Isiolo (1). Dutch Flower Firm ordered to pay Ksh.1.3 billion in taxes

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has won a case to collect taxes worth Ksh.1.3 billion from Van Den Berg limited, a Dutch flower firm operating in Kenya. The firm was ordered to pay KRA after the High Court in Nairobi dismissed a judicial review application filed by the company in April, 2016 seeking to quash a tax assessment issued by the Commissioner of Domestic Taxes. Urgent Appeal to International Community to Support African Travel and Tourism Sector

Five international air transport and tourism bodies have launched an appeal to international financial institutions, country development partners and international donors to support Africa’s Travel & Tourism sector which employs some 24.6 million people on the African continent.
