Is Leboo the man who might help Sonko fix things at City Hall?

Leboo Ole Morintat who has served at top management level for 25 years in various parts of the country has emerged as one of the most trusted allies of Governor Mike Sonko.

The Public Service Management Chief Officer was last week appointed the Deputy County Secretary by Governor Mike Sonko.

Mr Leboo who has also served as Town Clerk at City Hall was the Acting County Secretary for almost eight months before the appointment of Peter Kariuki.

Mr Kariuki was suspended alongside other top officials at City Hall  over sabotage claims following the much publicized Pumwani Maternity Hospital saga. His place was taken up by Pauline Kahiga in acting capacity.

But talk at City Hall has been rife that Mr Leboo remains Sonko’s preferred candidate for the CS seat due to his experience.

He is a Degree graduate in matters Political Governance and Public Administration, holds MBA Strategic Management and has attended several governance training programs over the years.

He prides himself as a genius in management of public affairs owed to the number of years he has engaged the public in similar capacity.

A number of MCAs have come out to support his appointment, noting that his vast experience at City Hall and understanding of needs of City residents makes him the ultimate pick for the CS post.

While Mr Kariuki remains legitimately in office, his fate remains unknown but sources indicate that Governor Sonko would prefer working with Mr Leboo.

The County Secretary position at City Hall remains the most critical and active office, considering that the Governor as it stands, has no deputy since the resignation of Polycarp Igathe.

All eyes remains glued to the unfolding events at City Hall and whether Mr Leboo may find his way back to the seat as the ultimate County Secretary and not the deputy will be determined in due course.
