Kenyans Exceed pre-order projections for Samsung Note 20

Samsung has noted a 1.3 times increase in the number of pre-orders for its recently launched flagship brand the Samsung Note 20 Series in Kenya compared to the previous Note 10 Series. This increase comes at a time when consumers are cutting down on spending due to the economic implications of Covid-19. The pre-order season began on 14th August and ended on 26th of August.

“The Note 20 series is designed for a person who is trying to get the most out of work and pleasure so we are not surprised by the increase in pre-orders; we also expect the sales to be higher” said Charles Kimari the Head of Integrated Mobile at Samsung.

The introduction of the Samsung Note 20 series comes at a time when most corporates have been forced to embrace the work from home culture and therefore a majority of professionals are looking to invest in technology that will make their work from home experience better but more enjoyable.

The pre-order concept has largely been implemented in developed countries accounting for up to 70% of sales especially in the motor and tech industries. The same concept equally allows for prediction of the product performance in the market as compared to its competitors.

“The Note 20 series is doing really well in this market and based on the pre-order numbers we know we are going to hit our targets for Kenya and we believe that this can be attributed to the devices features that integrate power, productivity and entertainment,” added Charles Kimari.

The recently launched series comes in two versions: Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, designed for Note fans who demand the ultimate in power and productivity, and Galaxy Note 20, for broader Note users looking to maximise their time for work and play.

For customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra they received the new, wireless Galaxy Buds Live and those who pre-ordered the Galaxy Note 20 received the popular Galaxy Buds+. The Note 20 is currently retailing at 106,999 Kenya shillings while the Note 20 Ultra is retailing at 136,999 Kenya Shillings.
