Kidero leads Wanga in Race for Homabay Governor

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero is leading Gladys Wanga and Oyugi Magwanga in the contest to be the next Homabay Governor.

According to a survey done by Mizani Africa, the former Nairobi governor is likely to garner 44.1 per cent of votes in Homabay ahead of Gladys Wanga who is likely to get 21.6 per cent of votes if the elections were held today.

The findings contained in a study conducted between March 8th and March 18 saw Gladys Wanga come second as Oyugi Magwanga came third in the race with 15.3 per cent.

The survey released today, further showed that a majority of the residents were comfortable with the candidature of Evans Kidero.

In the political parties sphere ODM emerged as the most preferred vehicle for aspirants eyeing the governors post.

Dr. Evans Kidero who is eyeing an ODM party ticket will receive a boost if the party throws weight behind his candidature.

Homabay county is one of the counties in Nyanza Province where ODM commands big support.
