The women of Kenya acting under the auspices of the African Women Leaders Network (AWLN), Women Mediation Network Kenya, Democracy Trust Fund and Echo Network, urges the president election Dr. William Samoei Ruto and his deputy H.E Rigathi Gachagua to Prioritise the women’s agenda.
Congratulating the president elect and his deputy earlier today, the Women of Kenya says that they have no doubt that H.E Ruto will embrace all Kenyans and unite the nation.
As you set the agenda for your first 100 days in office after being sworn in, we urge you to Prioritise the women’s agenda including actualizing the commitments for girls and women contained in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance Women’s Charter which articulates the comprehensive agenda for the women of Kenya.” Stated Dr. Jennifer Riria, Chairperson, AWLN-K and WMN-Ko
They also applaud the message of hope and reconciliation by the outgoing president H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, in which he committed to hand over power to the President- Elect and ensure smooth transition.
