The County Government will give priority to young people and women in filling positions of the new jobs advertised on Wednesday.
The Nairobi County Public Service Board on Wednesday advertised recruitment of 800 County Constables ,200 Fire Fighters and 498 ECDE care givers.
Governor Mike Sonko has promised to personally follow up to ensure that youths, women and persons with disabilities are given priority.
The govenor has further called on the board to consider applicants based on merit.
We are not going to pick old people who have worked before but instead we will give priority to young hustlers women and the disabled ,”
Sonko has warned against nepotism and further urged the county staff from trying to use the opportunity to being in their cronies.
” Our staff should stay off and let the board do it’s work,”
The govenor has also called on the public against giving money to conmen masquarading as job brokers for the county.Those told to part with money have been urged to report to the board .
No one should give anyone one money and if told to part with money report it to me or the board,”
The recruitments have been done to increase efficiency in the three sectors.
A good number or enforcement officers are nearing their retirement age, while the new fire stations and ECDE centres are in need of more personell.
